ESMEZ is the London-based studio of ceramic designer and maker Elif Esmez. Working at the intersection of contemporary craft, collectible design and spatial practice, the studio explores how ceramic objects shape the way people experience space.

Rather than defining objects through a single purpose or interpretation, ESMEZ creates adaptable ceramic forms that remain open to different arrangements, uses and meanings. Through modular thinking, material experimentation and tactile surfaces, the work explores how objects evolve through their relationship with people, their surroundings and the passage of time.

Drawing on a background in design and over a decade of ceramic practice and production, Elif combines conceptual thinking with hands-on making to develop forms that balance structure, tactility and a quiet presence. Through ESMEZ, she continues to explore how ceramics can move beyond the singular object, creating meaningful relationships between objects, people and the spaces they inhabit.
